About

Christina Turner

Christina Turner graduated in 2013 from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts, double-majoring in Art & Design and Psychology. Her studio practice focuses on painting and multimedia. As her artistic process evolves, Christina’s study of psychology allows to her to combine perceptual cues with artistic knowledge to create the spatial illusions present in her work. In addition to her individual practice, she has participated in collaborative shows featuring performance and installation elements including: “Loving and Leaving: Tracing Passages of the Heart” in 2012, to celebrate the life of beloved mentor Gordana Zivkovic, and, “Gordana Zivkovic: Passages of the Kino Eye,” in 2014, a retrospective on Gordana’s work and life.

Now living in Edmonton, her experience at Retirement Living Communities has led her to focus on developing ways for art to transcend age and physical limitations to inspire beautiful self-expression and community achievement.
